Bengaluru: In an unfortunate incident which unfolded on Friday morning, a trainer flight aircraft of HAL crashed at the rear side of the HAL airport in Bengaluru. The aircraft belonged to HAL and two pilots were present at the time the crash happened.
Both managed to make a timely ejection from the aircraft before the incident. Unfortunately, one of them landed on the wreckage of the aircraft which was on fire. The pilot passed away in the spot. The video of the crash has gone viral on social media. Rescue teams have rushed to the spot. According to a tweet by ANI, both pilots had ejected, but one of them died as he had landed on the wreckage of the aircraft.
The reason for the crash is yet to be determined. The incident happened near Yamalur off old Airport Road here.
