New Delhi: In the by-elections to two municipal wards in Delhi, the Congress bagged one seat and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) another, the State Election Commission (SEC) said on Tuesday.
Congress' Mukesh Goel won the bypoll to Sarai Pipal ward in North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC).
AAP candidate Reshma won the bypoll from Maujpur seat of East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC), the SEC said.
On May 21, the by-election to Sarai Pipal ward was held. For Maujpur, bypoll held on May 14.
Following the death of the Samajwadi Party candidates on April 23, the polling in these two wards were cancelled during the municipal elections.
Interestingly, making hat-trick, BJP recently won the MCD polls in which AAP came second and Congress third.
