As Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Dussehra rally was undergoing in Mumbai, Uddhav Thackeray and his faction of Shiv Sena also held its own Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park on Wednesday.

"This year Ravan is different. Khokasur Ravan aur Dhokhasur Ravan hai (corrupt Ravan and disloyal Ravan)," Uddhav Thackeray said while addressing a crowd gathered for the party's Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.

"I will call them (rebels) gaddar only. In this birth, they can't wipe this tag. Earlier, people said Shiv Sena would be over. Now looking at the crowd, they are saying traitors will be wiped out. This crowd is not here for money," Uddhav Thackeray said.

Traditionally Shiv Sena's  Dussehra rally has been organised at Shivaji Park led by Thackerays and family, who have been at the helm of the leadership of the party since its inception. However, Uddhav Thackeray was jolted as Eknath Shinde carved out MLAs and with the help of the BJP was able to form a government in the state.

This has led to a legal battle on the claims of real Shiv Sena and the usage of its election symbol as both the factions claim stake.

Ahead of the rallies, both the Sena factions released video trailers.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led faction released a teaser starting with the voice of Uddhav Thackeray quoting Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj stating that one should never backstab but if one does then one should not be left alive.

Uddhav Thackeray also asserted that he has nothing left for himself but only the power that people have given him. He further called the gathering a full-packed event of his "Thackeray family", and says that every attendee has Bala Saheb Thackeray in their heart and the bond is unbreakable.

The video ends with excerpts of former CM Thackeray's interview instructing the attendees on responsible and disciplined behaviour during the celebrations at the rally.

Earlier on September 23, the Bombay High Court ruled in favour of the Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena and allowed them to hold the Dussehra rally at the Shivaji Park.
