New Delhi: Amid a political turmoil in the Shiv Sena triggered by the rebellion of senior leader Eknath Shinde and several other party MLAs, Union Minister Raosaheb Danve on Sunday said Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in the state will last “two to three days”.
Danve expressed confidence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) forming the government in Maharashtra soon.
The BJP leader said the Maha Vikas Aghadi should complete remaining development works at the earliest as “we will be in opposition only for two to three days”, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.
“Time is running out. This government will last for two to three days. The BJP has nothing to do with this rebellion,” the news agency quoted Danve as saying at the inaugural function of an agriculture department building in Jalna in the presence of state Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) minister Rajesh Tope.
“Shiv Sena rebels have resentment towards Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray as development funds were diverted by NCP and Congress,” added Danve, who is the Minister of State for Railways, Coal and Mines in Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Cabinet.
Responding to a poser on the possibility of Shinde-led group merging with the BJP, Danve said that there was no such proposal and added if one comes then the senior party leadership would take a call.
The BJP leader further said that there was no chance of President’s Rule being imposed in Maharashtra.
