Bihar: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to elect his new cabinet on Saturday after a major reshuffle that took place after dissolving his previous government and joining hands with BJP.

Of the 27 MLAs that took oath, 16 would be from NDA and 19 from JDU. The oath taking ceremony will take place at 5pm at Raj Bhawan in Patna.

Of the 27 MLAs, 3 are Yadavs, 6 are from (Economically Backward classes) EBC, 3 are Dalits and 1 is Muslim.

It is surprising to see that only one seat has been given to a woman, that too from JD(U), who already held a position. No seat has been allotted to a woman by BJP.

A ministerial post has also been given to Bihar-based Ram Vilas Paswan’s brother from Lok Janshakti Party that is a part of the NDA.

The new NDA government came to power in Bihar after clearing the floor test in Bihar Assembly on Friday after attaining 131 votes.
