Kolkata Rape Case

The 24-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted after she had visited the campus to submit a form for an upcoming examination. According to her complaint, she was detained in the student union room even after completing her task. She alleged that a former student—currently working as a contractual non-teaching staff member and practicing criminal lawyer—assaulted her after she rejected his proposal for marriage. During the attack, two current students allegedly stood guard and filmed the incident on their mobile phones, as per a report on PTI.

In her written complaint, the survivor further alleged that the guard ignored her pleas for help during the incident.
