New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress over its criticism for Kejriwal promising free electricity in Goa, reported ANI. Questioning the opposition for criticism he said that if ministers can get 3,000 units of free electricity then what is wrong in giving 300 units of free electricity to citizens.
"BJP and Congress say that Kejriwal is distributing everything for free. I want to ask each and every leader that every minister gets 3,000 units of free electricity every month and if I want to give 300 units free every month to my citizens then what is wrong with this?," said Kejriwal on Tuesday.
Kejriwal further added, "Why are leaders hurting by this? Politicians are hurting because with these schemes all of their corruption money will end."
As the state of Goa would go for Assembly elections in 2022, the AAP chief has promised 300 units of free electricity for people in the state. He further promised that if they come into power, his party will waive off old electricity bills till the next assembly elections.
Kejriwal was in North Goa’s Sattari on Tuesday where he addressed a gathering after inducting BJP leader Vishwajit K Rane into the Aam Aadmi Party. Rane had contested the 2017 state election where he lost to Congress leader Pratap Singh Rane from the Poriem Assembly constituency.
Several other leaders have also joined the Aam Aadmi Party ahead of the polls to the State Legislative Assembly.
