An incident similar to the sensational Shraddha murder case has come to light in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka. A man allegedly killed his father and then cut his body into 32 pieces before dumping the body parts into a borewell.

After the murder came to light, the police recovered the body parts of the deceased and arrested the accused Vithala Kulali. He has been sent to judicial custody.

The police stated that 20-year-old Vithala allegedly killed his 53-year-old father Parshuram Kulali with an iron rod in a fit of rage on December 6. According to the police, Parshuram often used to abuse Vithala, the younger of his two sons, after getting drunk.

Parshuram's wife and elder son live separately, the police informed.

According to authorities, Vithla's father was assaulting him on December 6, when enraged by this, Vithla took up an iron rod and murdered him. He then cut Parashurama's body into 32 pieces and threw them into a borewell in his farm located near Mantur Bypass on the outskirts of Mudhol in Bagalkot district.

The locals alerted the police after a foul smell started emanating from the borewell. Upon reaching the spot, the police questioned Vittal, suspecting his role in the murder. During the interrogation, he allegedly confessed to the crime. The police have recovered the severed parts of the dead body from the borewell and sent it for postmortem.

In a similar incident in Delhi, 28-year-old Shraddha Walkar was allegedly strangled and killed by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawala, in her Chhatarpur flat in Mehrauli. He then dismembered her corpse into 35 pieces and stacked them in a refrigerator and would later dump them at midnight in the forest area of the city. Aftab was arrested on November 12 and is currently in police custody.
