Actor Kangana Ranaut, in fresh statements, has said that India got its 'real Aazadi (freedom) in 2014'. She made this statement in an interview with 'Times Now'. Kangana's statements have irked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Varun Gandhi. He reacted by saying: "Should I call this thinking madness or treason?"

Varun Gandhi's statements come after Kangana Ranaut said, "Is it really Independence if that Independence is achieved after begging. (Azaadi agar bheekh me milein toh kya woh aazadi ho sakti hai?) Real Freedom came in 2014."

Varun Gandhi tweeted in Hindi saying, "The disdain for the sacrifices of millions of freedom fighters from Shaheed Mangal Pandey to Rani Laxmibai, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and more.

Should I call this thinking madness or treason?"

After making the statement that 'Real Aazadi Came in 2014', Kangana said, "now I will be slammed with 10 more cases after this."

"Right now, you are in Delhi, those things happen in Mumbai," the interviewer responded.

In the interview, Kangana said that she has 'purely nationalistic' intentions in the work that she does.

Swara Bhaskar too shared the same video and called the people clapping in the video as 'idiots':

Kangana recently won Padma Shri award, which is the fourth-highest civilian award in the country.
