While speaking to ABP News, Hasan said: “I had said earlier that the margin of victory could be less but win is certain.”
She further said: “This is because of the love & support from both Jats and Muslims. People do not want to get polarised by BJP”
Hasan who is ahead of BJP's Mriganka Singh by 65K votes, said that BJP’s defeat in the upcoming elections in 2019 is certain. She said that BJP will be reduced to 3 seats out of 80.
For clinching Kairana, Samajwadi Party used the formula of joint opposition again to defeat BJP.
It fielded SP leader Tabassum Hasan on the ticket of RLD party and as per the expectation, the formula worked.
The biggest challenge in Kairana was to bring the Muslim and Jat voters under one roof. The Jat voters support Choudhary Ajit Singh while the Muslim voters side with Akhilesh. With SP’s Tabassum Hasan contesting from Choudhary Ajit Singh’s party, SP and RLD have addressed the major challenge of vote division.
The Kairana result will be a litmus test for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as it is faced with the joint opposition once again.
The constituency fell vacant after the death of BJP MP Hukum Singh, whose daughter Mriganka Singh is now the party's candidate for the by-poll.
