Jammu: A terrorist has been neutralised in an encounter which took place with the security forces in Bijbehara, Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
While in a separate incident, the Army has launched a search operation to smoke out hidden terrorists in Sopore in Baramulla district. The Army and the Police have cordoned off the area and launched search operations in Bomai area of Sopore in Baramulla, where terrorists are believed to be hiding.

Even earlier on December 9, three Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorists were killed in a 36-hour gunbattle with security forces in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district in Kashmir.
"Three holed up terrorists eliminated; bodies of two terrorists & three weapons recovered," Army's Northern Command said in a tweet.
Arif Shah, a resident of Sangam area of Anantnag district, was also hit by the "stray bullet" when security forces were dealing with a group which was indulging in stone-pelting near the encounter site, the official said.
However, locals alleged that Mr Shah was killed in security forces action against protesters.
