Two Army jawans were critically injured in the shooting and reportedly succumbed to their injuries after they were rushed to nearest medical facility.
Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed is suspected to be behind the act, as per officials.
Three terrorists, of which two are suspected to have Pakistani roots, arrived in a car, opened fire at Army soldiers and fled.
“3 terrorists started shooting at our Army soldiers. Two jawans were critically injured & reportedly succumbed to injuries. Jaish has active movement here, by evening we'll identify the group. Terrorists fled in a car & were armed. 2 are probably Pakistani & one local,” Kashmir IG has said.
Defence PRO, Srinagar said, “two soldiers were critically injured & were evacuated to the nearest medical facility. However, they have succumbed to their injuries.”
