Uttar Pradesh: The students and professors at Aligarh Muslim University have united against "Hindu groups" over Jinnah controversy. Both are seeking action against the lathi-charge and violence that took place in the university and launched a march inside the campus.

An action is also being sought against BJP MP Satish Gautam.

On the other hand, to ensure that incidents of violence do not take place again via provocations on social media, the authorities have blocked the internet services of the university, whose brunt the students are facing.

On Friday, local scribes were also attacked inside the campus, after some students took them inside and started thrashing them. An attempt to snatch their cameras was also made.



The violence began at AMU after Hindu activists entered the campus and started protesting against Jinnah’s photo, which was hung inside the university since years.

Now, the University faculty and students are not ready to cater to the demand of removal of picture till the “hatemongers” are punished.
