New Delhi: In a major blow to RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Jharkhand High Court on Friday declined his request of extending his interim bail plea for another four months.

The court has asked him to surrender by August 30.

Lalu has been on bail since May 16, which he got over ‘health issues’; after being sentenced for several years in jail after being convicted in four cases related to fodder scam.

Special CBI court had held in guilty in connection with the fourth fodder scam case pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from Dumka treasury in the early 1990s.

Yadav was earlier out on a 3-day furlough, which he was granted by Jharkhand High Court for attending his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav’s wedding.

Before being released on bail, Yadav was forbidden from speaking to media, holding rallies, and also flying abroad; therefore his passport was also seized.
