The IED recovery has happened soon after the arrest of two top terrorists from Kunjwani in Jammu and Bari Brahmana area of Samba district.

Officials informed that the seven-kilogram IED was detected by officials who were acting on specific information and they successfully recovered it near a crowded general bus stand area in Jammu.

Zahoor Ahmad Rather, a terrorist affiliated with The Resistance Front (TRF) who was wanted in connection with the killing of three BJP workers and a policeman in south Kashmir last year, was arrested from the Bari Brahmana area of Samba on Saturday.

Earlier on February 6, a self-styled commander of the Lashkar-e-Mustafa (LeM), Hidayatullah Malik, alias "Hasnain", was also held from the Kunjwani area of Jammu.

The J&K police are expected to provide more details about this foiled plot as to what other information has been ascertained about this attempt to create unrest on the second anniversary of the Pulwama attack in which Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed carried out the attack on a CRPF convoy of 70 vehicles in Pulwama, resulting in the death of 40 jawans.
