New Delhi: The security forces in Jammu & Kashmir on Friday recovered 20 kgs of explosives in the form of gelatine sticks as well as detonators from a private house in the Kishtwar district.


The house where the explosives were recovered is located in Ward No 13 in Kishtwar.

According to inputs, the forces received specific information regarding the presence of explosives in the town.


A joint search operation was carried out by Army (26 RR) and Police in the Malipeth area of Kishtwar.


During the search, the team recovered around 20 kgs of commercial-grade explosives as well as cash amounting to Rs. 1,20,000, and mobile phones from the house, J&K Police informed.






The property belongs to a person identified as Mohammad Hussain from Malipeth.


The recovered items have been confiscated and further investigation is in progress.


SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Butt, while confirming the recoveries, said that an investigation has been initiated to find out more details.
