New Delhi: Security forces' operation against terrorists is underway in Jammu and Kashmir at four different areas.

One encounter is underway between terrorists and security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir and three terrorists have been decimated so far. The gunfight broke out in the early hours of Thursday in Shopian’s Keller area. As per information received, CRPF, Army , Jammu and Kashmir police had launched a joint operation.  The joint team was however attacked by terrorists during a search operation.

This is the second encounter in Shopian district in less than a week.

On Friday, March 22, a similar encounter broke out in the Imam Sahab area of Shopian, where forces trapped 2-3 terrorists in a residential house.

A cordon and search operation is launched in Yaroo area of Handwara in North Kashmir district of Kupwara .

Operations are also going on at Kulgam, and Bandipora.

Security forces in the state have remained on high alert since the Pulwama attack in February, which claimed the lives of 40  CRPF personnel.
