New Delhi: The killer of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel Mukhtar Ahmad Dohi has been arrested, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, said on Sunday. Mukhtar Ahmad Dohi was shot dead by some unidentified militants in south Kashmir’s Shopian on Saturday. 


Kumar also said that the weapon of offence has been recovered, news agency ANI reported. 






“One overground worker who accompanied him during terror crime was also arrested. The terror crime was committed on direction of LeT Commander Abid Ramzan Sheikh,” ANI quoted Kumar as saying. Ahmad Dohi was on leave at Chotipora village of Shopian.


A police official confirmed the incident. Quoting the official, a report by news agency PTI said that at about 7:35 pm, terrorists fired upon a CRPF personnel, Mukthar Ahmad, at his home in Check Chotipora area of Shopian in south Kashmir. Security forces were cordoned off the area.

Ahmad Dohi was referred to the district hospital in Shopian, the official said. Doctors at the hospital declared Ahmad Dohi dead on arrival. 


The Jammu and Kashmir Police said that Ahmad Dohi succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom while on way to the hospital.
