New Delhi: Taking a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said the results of the Assembly elections in three northeast states show the country has rejected the party and no one took Gandhi or his Bharat Jodo Yatra seriously.

Talking about Gandhi’s ‘new look’ after he trimmed his beard and moustache ahead of his visit to Cambridge University, Scindia said he doesn’t want to make any statement on that, however, the results of Nagaland, Tripura and Meghalaya Assembly elections have made the ‘look’ of Congress in the entire country clear.

Jyotiraditya Scindia made the remarks during his visit to Gwalior to take stock of the ongoing development works under the Smart City Project.

Further taking a swipe at Gandhi, Scindia said that it may so happen that the grand old party will not exist till the end of this year when Madhya Pradesh elections are scheduled to be held.

“Our government under the leadership of PM Modi, union home minister Shah, and BJP national president Nadda, is an inclusive and all-round development government. It is a government moving forward with the ultimate goal,” news agency ANI quoted the Union Minister as saying.

“Every corner of the country, right from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, from Gujarat to Arunachal, the government is moving forward with the same spirit and the same resolve,” he said, adding, “People’s faith and people’s blessings are with our Trimurti, this is clearly visible in the election results.”

Speaking about the MP Budget, Scindia said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan presented a public-friendly budget.

“It is not the budget of the Bharatiya Janata Party government, it is the budget of nine crore people of Madhya Pradesh. Women are the power of the village, the power of the country and the power of the state. The Ladli Behna Yojana will lead to women empowerment. Madhya Pradesh is moving very fast in empowerment,” the union minister said.
