Bihar: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who an year ago withdrew support to Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) and formed government with Bharatiya Janta Party in the state is hinting at changing his mind again over alliance formation.
Kumar, who ahead of pulling out of grand alliance in Bihar and forming a government with BJP, under his leadership; had praised Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi’s demonetization move, hinting at his inclination towards the party.
“In my personal opinion, it is a great move to curb the problem of black money and corruption” Nitish had said.
Months after Nitish’s statement, he declared breaking ties with RJD and shaking hands with then opponent party.
Now, an year down the line that Nitish is running a government in Bihar with BJP support, he while addressing a gathering raised questions on the benefits of demonetization move; raising suspicions and eyebrows.
This has made the opposition in the state to take on Kumar and mock his statement.
Speaking on recent statement by Nitish, Bihar Congress President Qaukab Kadri said “Their alliance is unconstitutional, their ideologies don’t match and Nitish has fallen weak under BJP’s influence and he is having a self realization of the same”.
“Rahul Gandhi has always attempted to maintain an alliance of people with similar ideologies. Nitish needs to get out of BJP” he added.
Even RJD took a snipe at Nitish over his statement saying, “BJP is not paying heed to Nitish and he needs to save his political position. Hence, he is having such a realization”.
