PM Modi said Yoga helps one develop concentration and develop one's personality. He said Yoga can be a great tourist attraction for Srinagar and has the potential to boost the economy.

Nearly 4,000 people took part in doing Yoga with PM Modi at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Complex (SKICC) on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar. The event (Yoga session at SKICC) got delayed a little due to rain. PM Modi said that Srinagar's rain brought down the temperature which is why he had to don a sweater. According to weather forecast service Accuweather, the temperature in Srinagar was around 17 degrees Celsius.

Addressing the Yoga enthusiasts at SKICC, PM Modi said: "The weather threw up challenges... Many of my daughters were trying to shield themselves from the rain using their Yoga mats. But they stayed; they did not leave. This is an everlasting moment on the global stage. When Yoga becomes a part of life naturally, it benefits every moment..."

PM Modi's venues for International Yoga Day celebrations in the previous years included Delhi's Kartavya Path, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ranchi, Lucknow, and Mysuru. PM Modi led the world in celebrating Yoga Day from the United Nation's Headquarters in New York last year.
