Peter Mukerjea, who is also a co-accused in the case, received a notice which read ‘divorce with mutual consent’ from Indrani, who is also currently behind the bars.
The notice which was sent on April 25, aimed at amicable financial settlement.
As per reports, both have come to a consensus on financial settlements and immovable properties; which was communicated through their respective lawyers.
The duo was supposed to be brought to family court at 10.30 am on Tuesday from Byculla and Arthur Road Jail respectively, where the case proceedings were to begin.
The two married in 2002 but it is believed that trouble started escalating soon after their arrest in 2015 in their daughter Sheena Bora murder case.
Both are prime accused in their daughter Sheena Bora murder case and their driver became a witness in the case.
The trial is underway at the special CBI court in Mumbai.
