Train Status due to ‘Titli’ Cyclone: A very severe cyclonic storm packing winds of up to 150 kmph and widespread rains hit eastern India. The Indian Railway informed that in view of the water level touching the danger level at Bridge Number 1052 at KMs 632/11-15 between Ichuapuram and Jhadpudi Stations in Brahmapur-Palasa Railway Section of E.Co.Railway at 2300hrs (11.00p.m.) many trains will be affected due to Cyclone 'Titli'.

The South Central Railway, as well as the East Coast Railway, also cancelled several trains while some were terminated midway. Earlier, Train services between Khurda Road in Odisha and Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh also remained suspended since 10 pm Wednesday.

Trains have been controlled enroute as per the following -

  •  12843 Puri-Ahmedabad Express at Brahmapur

  • 12703 Howrah-Secunderabad Falaknuma Express at Brahmapur

  • 12839 Howrah-Chennai Mail at Khurda Road

  • 12660 Shalimar-Nagercoil Gurudev Express at Khurda Road

  • 12841 Howrah-Chennai Coromandal Express at Bhubaneswar

  • 12663 Howrah-Trichirapalli Express at Cuttack

  • 22851 Santragachhi-Mangaluru Express at Cuttack

  • 22603 Kharagpur-Villupuram Express at Jajpur Keonjhar Road

  • 12552 Kamakhya-Yesvantpur AC Express at Bhadrak

  • 12863 Howra - Yesvantpur Exp at Ranital.


Apart from this, it has also been decided to divert some of the trains.

The following trains are already diverted viz. -

  • 18047 Howrah - Vasco Da Gama  Express,

  • 22644 Patna - Ernakulam Exp,

  • 12514 Guwahati - Secunderabad Exp diverted via Tatanagar - Jharsuguda- Sambalpur-Vizianagaram.


These trains will be controlled till position improves and it is declared safe to run trains over the area.
