New Delhi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said that India sees all nations as equal partners and does not believe in imposing external solutions to a country's internal problems. Speaking at Defence Ministers' Conclave at Aero India, Singh said that when we export defence equipment to friendly nations and we offer our full support towards capability development.


"India sees all nations as equal partners; we don't believe in imposing external solutions to a country's internal problems," Rajnath Singh said as quoted by PTI.


 He said that India does not believe in dealing with security challenges in old paternalistic or neo-colonial paradigms.


"India doesn't believe in giving sermons or cut-and-dried solutions that don't respect national values of countries needing aid," Singh said.






Union Minister said that to counter security threats, we need to devise new strategies for our current reality. Terrorism, illegal arms trade and drug smuggling pose a significant security threat to the whole world, he added. He said that collective security has become sine-qua­ non for our development, and prosperity.


"To counter security threats, there is a need to devise new strategies for our current reality," Rajnath Singh said as quoted by PTI.


Rajnath Singh also met the CEOs of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) on the sidelines of 14th Aero India on February 14, 2023. During the interaction, he highlighted that India offers significant advantages of competitive land costs, skilled human capital, a vibrant start-up ecosystem and a huge domestic defence market to the Global Defence industry, Defence Ministry said in a statement. He described this as a win-win situation where defence manufacturing companies from across the world can become a part of the Indian growth story, the statement further read.
