New Delhi: The daily Covid count in India has remained below 1 lakh for the past five days. Country recorded 42,640 new COVID19 cases, 81,839 discharges and 1,167 deaths in last 24 hours. As per the latest health bulletin issued by the Union Health Ministry, this is the lowest in 91 days.

The Indian Council of Medical Research has informed that the total number of samples tested up to 21st June is 39,40,72,142. Of these, 16,64,360 samples for Covid-19 were tested yesterday.
India administered 86.16 lakh (86,16,373) vaccine doses on the first day of implementation of centre's revised guidelines wherein it took over the responsibility of procuring Covid-19 vaccines for the 18+ age group. Ministry of Health claimed that this is the highest ever single day vaccination achieved in the world so far. With this, the number of total vaccine doses administered so far is 28,87,66,201.
According to the revised guidelines which came into effect from June 21, vaccine doses provided free of cost by the Centre will be allocated to states and UTs based on criteria such as population, disease burden and the progress of vaccination, and all above the age of 18 will be eligible for the free jabs.
