New Delhi: In a strong statement against Rohingyas on Tuesday, Bharatiya Janta Party Telangana MLA Raja Singh said that in order to keep our country safe, the Rohingyas should be shot dead.

“If these Rohingyas and Bangladeshi illegal immigrants do not leave India respectfully, then they should be shot and eliminated; then only our country will be safe” the MLA said.

The statement comes amid uproar in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha over the Rohingya issue on Tuesday.

Senior leaders from government cleared their stand on the issue. “Rohingyas are illegal migrants and the government is not responsible to cater them like they cater to the normal citizens” Minister of State (Home Affairs) Kiren Rijiju said in Lok Sabha.

Speaking on the same issue, Home Minister Rajnath Singh issued a statement saying, “Border Security Force and Assam Rifles are deployed to stop further infiltration of Rohingyas”. The government “Have issued advisory to states to monitor those who have already come and keep them at one place and not let them spread. States also have right to deport them".
