New Delhi: Former Army Chief General Bikram Singh on Monday said that the Indian Army should be given adequate time to seek retribution over the Pulwama terror attack carried out by Pakistan based terror group Jaish-E- Mohammad. Addressing the conclave as one of the eminent speakers at the Shikhar Sammelan organised by ABP News in New Delhi, General Singh sent down a stern warning to the Pakistan establishment saying that if the nation exercises the nuclear option as a strike alternate against India, our forces shall retaliate in the strongest possible manner and our neighbor shall cease to exist from the World Map. He added that India as a responsible nation would strictly abide by the nuclear doctrine principle of 'No First Strike' , but if our nation was provoked the consequences shall be serious for the aggressor.

The former Army Chief added that Pakistan was much better prepared in their defenses after the clinical surgical strikes carried out by Indian Army Para Commandoes in wake of the Uri Terror attack. Hence the Army should work out a detailed plan and then execute the same with an element of awe, stealth and deception to by surprise the enemy.

Responding to a question on the sensitive Kashmir issue, General Singh said that problem in the valley was different from a conventional war as the Army has to handle operations with degree of care considering the local Kashmiri population which resides in the region. He said that radicalization among Kashmiri youth had taken place in a big way by separatist elements in the last decade or so. These elements are soft agents of Pakistan and need to be found and eliminated. He said the top leadership of the nation including Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh have repeatedly said that that the sacrifices of our valiant soldiers wont go in vain and the nation shall avenge every drop of blood shed of the fidayeen attack carried at the behest of Pakistan.
