New Delhi: Former Union Minister and Senior BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand who has been accused of harassment by an Uttar Pradesh girl, on Wednesday said that he was being framed in a case of abduction and sexual harassment as part of a conspiracy.

The law student from SS Law College in this Uttar Pradesh district went missing from her college hostel, days after she accused Chinmayanand, of harassment and "destroying the lives of several girls".

The girl, last week, had posted a video on the social media alleging that Swami Chinmayanand, who is the director of her college, is threatening to eliminate her and her family because she has evidence that could land him in trouble.

Referring to the FIR lodged against him for the alleged abduction of the girl , the BJP leader told while speaking to a news channel that "This is a conspiracy against me and the girl in question is a part of it. There are four other boys who had earlier tried to blackmail me and extort money."

The former minister further said that attempts were being made to malign the image of the Yogi Adityanath government.

"Earlier Kuldeep Singh Sengar was implicated in a similar case and now I am being targeted," he said.

Sengar has been charged with rape as well as for attempt to murder the rape victim and her lawyer through staging a road accident. Sengar is in Tihar Jail at present.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today said the alleged harassment of a woman student by Chinmayanand in Shahjahanpur appears to be a repetition of the Unnao case.

In a tweet, she alleged that in Uttar Pradesh, if a woman registers a complaint against a BJP leader her security is not guaranteed.

Gandhi was referring to the rape charge made by a 19-year-old woman from Unnao against MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who was expelled from the BJP recently. In Shahjahanpur, Chinmayanand was booked on Tuesday under IPC sections related to abduction in order to murder, and criminal intimidation.
