The couple had married after eloping from their houses and then gained popularity after they shared a video message, seeking protection from the girl’s father, who was very angry over their marriage.
Speaking on the incident, an eye witness said that the court has expressed anger over the incident and is likely to order an inquiry on the incident.
HC lashes out at BJP MLA:
Lashing out at BJP MLA Rajesh Mishra, Justice Siddharth Verma said that both his daughter Sakshi and son-in-law are adults and have a right to decide their life partners. The court also provided the couple with security.
High drama outside courtroom:
Only hours before court hearing, rumours floated that the couple has been kidnapped from outside the Allahabad court premises; which later turned out that was another couple and not Ajitesh and Sakshi.
The incident took place at 8.30 a.m., hours before the case of BJP MLA Rajesh Misra's daughter Sakshi Misra and her husband Ajitesh Kumar was to be taken up in the court.
According to eye-witnesses, the young couple was seen waiting outside the court gate number 3, early in the day when a black SUV came and pulled in the couple at gunpoint.
BJP MLA Rajesh Misra denies charges:
Soon after BJP MLA’s daughter and her husband approached the Allahabad High Court seeking protection, her Rajesh Mishra denied allegations against him.
The MLA from Bithari Chainpur in Bareilly has, however, said he posed no threat to anyone and his daughter has the right to take her own decisions.
