Who Is Dr Gurpreet Kaur? What We Know About Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann's Wife To Be

Punjab CM is set to get married to Dr Gurpreet Singh whom he has known for a long time. The marriage was arranged by his mother and sister.

New Delhi: The Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, will marry Dr Gurpreet Kaur in a private ceremony on Thursday at their residence in Chandigarh. The wedding will take place as a private event and all the expenses will be taken care of by Mann himself, it has been reported. Raghav Chadha has been given the responsibility to take care of organising the wedding. The wedding is likely to be attended by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia and Chadha along with their families. 

While not much is known about Mann’s wife-to-be Dr Gurpreet Kaur, but it is being said they have known each other for a long time, and that she has been seen visiting the CM’s house. The marriage was arranged by Mann’s mother and sister, according to sources. 

Mann has been divorced for six years, and his former wife lives in the US along with their two children. The children had attended their Mann's swearing-in ceremony after he was appointed the chief minister of Punjab. 

Comedian-turned-politician Bhagwant Mann became an MP from Sangrur for the first time when he won the 2014 Lok Sabha election on Aam Aadmi Party ticket. His first wife Inderjit Kaur had also campaigned for him then. In the later years, the couple separated as he couldn't spend time with his family and got more involved in politics, a PTI report quoted Bhagwant Mann as saying. 

Before the Punjab Assembly elections in March this year, the AAP declared him as its CM face for Punjab. He won the polls with a thumping majority.  Bhagwant Mann is the 17th Chief Minister of Punjab.
