New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia are on a two-day visit to poll-bound Gujarat from Monday. The AAP leaders will reach Ahmedabad on Monday and address a town hall meeting in Himmatnagar. They will also attend a town hall meeting in Bhavnagar on Tuesday.
The party aims to publicise the message of providing free and quality education as well as healthcare services if it is voted to power in the state in upcoming assembly polls. The visit comes amid allegations of irregularities in the Delhi liquor policy. Sisodia is facing a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in connection with the Aam Aadmi Party government's previous excise policy.

AAP leaders seek police protection
Fearing an attack on the leaders during their visit, AAP has sought more police protection for the two leaders, reported news agency IANS. A memorandum was submitted to the office of Director General of Police (DGP) on Sunday by a delegation led by AAP Gujarat in-charge Gulab Singh and the State legal cell president Pranav Thakkar.
The memorandum says, "It has been brought to our knowledge from certain avenues and sources in the media that few anti-social elements inspired by the ideology of the ruling party, are planning to attack Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia."
The memorandum added, "The ruling dispensation is unhappy with growing popularity of Aam Aadmi Party and its leaders in the state. If any such incident happens in the state, it will be black spot on the image of the state. So to avert any untoward incident, the police should give more protection to Kejriwal and Sisodia during their visit to Gujarat."
AAP to ‘guarantee’ education and health
In a tweet on Saturday, Arvind Kejriwal said, “On Monday, Manish ji and I will go to Gujarat for two days - to guarantee education and health. Like Delhi, We will open good schools, good hospitals and mohalla clinics in Gujarat as well. Everyone will get good education and medical treatment for free. People will get so much relief. Will interact with youth also.”
The statement came a day after the CBI searched Sisodia's home and carried out raids at several places in connection with the alleged corruption in the implementation of Delhi's Excise Policy.
In his previous visit to north Gujarat, Kejriwal made several promises to the people of the state, ranging from free electricity supply to improving healthcare services.
Even as Sisodia on Sunday claimed that CBI has issued a Lookout Notice against him, the CBI denied issuing a notice against him. Later, it informed that the Look Out Notice has been issued against 8 out of the 9 persons named in the FIR lodged in this matter.
“The accused including Vijay Nair, former CEO of Only Much Louder, Amandeep Dhal, owner of Brindco Spirits, Sameer Mahendru, owner of Indospirit, Amit Arora, director of Buddy Retail, Dinesh Arora of Radha Industries, Sunny Marwah of Mahadev Liquors, a proprietorship firm,” the investigation agency said.
“The accused also includes Arjun Ramchandra Pillai and Arjun Pandey,” it added.
