Bhupendra Patel, who became MLA for the first time, was sworn in as Chief Minister of the state on Monday after a sudden change saw Vijay Rupani resigning from the CM post.

Meanwhile, the first cabinet meeting of the Council of Ministers, to be chaired by CM Bhupendra Patel, will take place today at 4.30 pm at Gandhinagar.

The dilemma about the oath-taking ceremony of new cabinet ministers remained a mystery as it was postponed twice on Wednesday. Tension was high in Gujarat BJP as the new Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel wanted a change in the entire cabinet.

Future Of These Four Political Faces

After Vijay Rupani's resignation, questions are being raised about the political future of veteran BJP leaders Nitin Patel, Bhupendra Singh Chudasma, RC Faldu, and Kaushik Patel.

All four are old faces of the BJP in Gujarat. The biggest question is about former deputy CM and strong leader Nitin Patel, who lagged behind this time too in the race to become CM. Both Bhupendra Patel and Nitin Patel belong to the Patidar community.

Gujarat Assembly Elections

Ministers are sworn-in in the new cabinet of the Bhupendra Patel government today. Nearly 15 months later, assembly elections will be held in Gujarat.
