NEW DELHI: Anandiben Patel's resignation as Gujarat Chief Minister has been accepted by the BJP's Parliamentary Board, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu said on Wednesday.
"Anandiben Patel's resignation has been accepted by the Parliamentary board. She will go to Raj Bhavan today and submit her resignation to the Governor," Parliamentary affairs minister Venkaiah Naidu said.
Naidu also ruled out the possibility of BJP president Amit Shah taking over as next Gujarat chief minister and said that party needs him at national level.
"No question of Amit Shah ji for Gujarat CM's post. He's party's president and we need him at national level," Naidu told media after BJP Parliamentary Board meeting.
BJP Parliamentary Board authorised party chief Amit Shah to pick the Chief Ministerial nominee in the legislature party meeting, reported PTI.
