Gujarat Bus Accident: At least two children were killed and more than 64 people were injured after a bus overturned and fell into a gorge in Gujarat's Dang district. The injured have been admitted to hospitals in Ahwa and Saputara for treatment.


The accident occurred in Khein in Saputara valley. 


According to news agency PTI, the bus jumped the protection wall on a highway and overtuned, while trying to overtake another vehicle in the district on Sunday.


The accident occurred on a national highway around 2 km from the hill town of Saputara in the evening at around 5 pm, an official said.


The luxury bus was carrying tourists from Surat who were returning from Saputara after a visit, PTI reported.


"Three passengers were undergoing treatment at a private hospital, and other injured persons were taken to a community health centre," the official stated.


1 Killed, 17 Injured As 2 Buses Overturn In UP's Muzaffarnagar


One person was killed and 17 others were injured after two buses overturned and one of them fell into a roadside ditch in UP's Muzaffarnagar on Saturday.


The incident took place on the Delhi-Dehradun national highway near Bhagenla checkpost, which comes under Kotwali police station area, PTI reported.


"The deceased has been identified as Ramgopal (35), the driver of one of the buses," Circle Officer (CO) Rupali Rao said.


The accident took place when the driver of one bus applied brakes in order to avoid a collision with an e-rickshaw. Due to this, the driver of the other bus had to apply brakes as well, causing the buses to overturn.


In another similar incident, a bus overturned in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi, leaving 30 injured, Times Of India reported.


The bus was en route from Bihar to Delhi when it overturned after the driver allegedly dozed off. The incident occurred on the Purvanchal Expressway on Saturday.


A passenger said that he woke up after a jolt at around 4:30 am and saw passengers falling onto the bus floor from their seats.


As per the report, some passengers complained the bus driver was driving recklessly.
