NEW DELHI: After reports on Pakistan government’s selection of David Headley’s half-brother as a representative sent to India during the funeral of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee sprung up, the Indian government on Sunday dismissed the claims, reported ANI.

"He (Gilani) did not go to the funeral venue. He (Gilani) did not attend the courtesy meeting of Caretaker Law Minister with EAM," ANI sources said.

The government further informed that Gilani was issued visa after checking blacklist, adding, there are no reports of his links to terrorism.

Gilani is a Pakistan civil servant and director to the Caretaker Law Minister. Daniel has publicly dissociated himself from David Headly.

Earlier it was said that Pakistan government sent a team of delegates to attend the funeral of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, under the caretaker law and information minister Ali Zafar and foreign office spokesperson Mohammad Faisal on August 17. I was falsely reported that the delegation included Danyal Gilani, the half-brother of terror-convict David Headley who was the plotter of 26/11 Mumbai attack.
