"You bring Narendra Modi to the old city and campaign here. We will see what happens. Organise his meeting here and we will see how many seats you will win here," the President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) had said at a public gathering, ANI reported.
Owaisi's challenge has come ahead of the municipal election that is scheduled to be held on December 1 while AIMIM and BJP indulge in a war of words over each others' ideology and attacks.
"These are municipal elections, they will not talk about development… Hyderabad has become a developed city, many MNCs have been set up here, but the BJP wants to destroy it, by bringing down the brand name of Hyderabad," Owaisi said.
Top BJP leaders such as state party President Bandi Sanjay and Bengaluru South MP Tejaswi Surya have alleged the presence of infiltrators in the Old City locality of Hyderabad.

"A BJP leader yesterday said BJP will do a surgical strike at the Old City and take out Pakistanis and Rohingyas if it wins GHMC polls. Their leader is MP from Secunderabad and holding the post of MoS (Home). If Pakistanis and Rohingyas live here, what was he doing?" he asked.
Earlier, the AIMIM chief had argued that if Pakistanis are living there, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are responsible. He had also challenged BJP to produce a list of even 1,000 Rohingyas on the electoral list. The allegation of 30,000 Rohingyas being on the electoral list brought in that response.
With every passing day of the campaign, the tone of attacks and allegations have been getting even more intense. Whats result does this discourse yield remains to be seen.
