New Delhi: At least four people were killed and seven people were injured after an explosion occurred in a warehouse of firecrackers in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena on Thursday, as reported by the news agency ANI.


"Cannot with confidence point out the reason for the blast, whether it was a firecracker or something else. Four have yet died, several of 7 injured are critical. At least one child who was buried under debris has been rescued", ANI quoted DM B Karthikeyan as saying.


More than 6 children, women, and men were buried under the debris after the explosion. Many are still feared dead under the debris. The reason of the blast is not yet ascertained. According to the news agency, firecrackers for Diwali were being made in the factory. The entire building was damaged in the blast.


The police and the administration reached the spot as soon as the information about the incident was received. The rescue operation was started. According to the reports, there was panic as soon as the explosion took place in the warehouse located on Jaitpur Road in Banmore Nagar. Some tenants were also living in the same house.
