After Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi claimed that there could be an Enforcement Directorate raid against him, Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena has thrown its weight behind him. The party even expressed apprehensions of an attack on Rahul Gandhi and some other Opposition leaders due to their vocal stance against the BJP-led Centre.

Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that his "chakravyuh" speech in Parliament on July 29 did not go down well with the ruling BJP and it was preparing to retaliate by using the ED. In his speech, Rahul Gandhi had mentioned in his speech that Indian youths, farmers, women, and small businessmen were being tricked just as the Kauravs had trapped Abhimanyu in the Kurukshetra war in Mahabharat.

Now, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has claimed that a conspiracy was afoot in another nation against those who speak against the government, including Rahul Gandhi. "Not just Rahul Gandhi but all those who are raising their voices against govt to save the democracy, a conspiracy is being hatched against all of them. This conspiracy is being hatched in a foreign land... anything can happen; there could be an attack on all of us, there could be an attack on Rahul Gandhi," Raut said.

"Over the last one month, we all, under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, have taken on the government. So, now they have lost their sleep," Raut added.

Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi said if baseless action is taken against Rahul Gandhi, all partners of INDIA bloc will stage strong protests.

"BJP has not learnt its lessons. Our central agencies are kneeling in front of the BJP... BJP is scared of Rahul Gandhi. Because he is LOP in Parliament and he is raising the voice of the common people of India. But the BJP is threatening him with ED raids. His [Rahul Gandhi's] insider sources have told him about the raids," she said.
