New Delhi: Chief Ministers of several states wanted to come to Gujarat and pay their respects to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother Heeraba Modi, but they were asked not to visit as the family wanted everyone to continue with their work.
Hiraba, also called Hiraben, passed away on Friday at the age of 100. She was recently hospitalised in Gujarat's Ahmedabad.
A bulletin from the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre, where she was admitted on Wednesday, informed that Hiraben has passed away.
"We thank everyone for their prayers in these tough times. It is our humble request to everyone to keep the departed soul in their thoughts and continue with their pre-decided schedule and commitments. That would be a befitting tribute to Hiraba," the family sources said.
