New Delhi: In yet another controversial statement against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday addressed him as “Commander-in-Thief” over the ongoing Rafale deal controversy.

This isn’t the first time Rahul has used such words for the PM, even earlier Rahul has addressed him “chor (thief)”. This came after French president had stated that Indian government had not left him with a choice to choose anyone else other than Anil Ambani or his company Reliance defence.

Hitting back at Rahul, BJP on Monday claimed that both “Pakistan and Congress want to remove PM Modi”. BJP also stated that “Rahul has mocked the surgical strikes performed by Indian soldiers against Pakistan”.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra while levying allegations on Congress questioned if “The country’s opposition party Congress making an international alliance with Pakistan?”

Patra also levied several other serious allegations against Congress. He said that Pakistan is tagging Rahul Gandhi’s tweets.

Congress takes on BJP over Rafale deal:

The Congress has been accusing massive irregularities in the Rafale deal, alleging that the government was procuring each aircraft at a cost of over Rs 1,670 crore as against Rs 526 crore finalised by the UPA government when it was negotiating procurement of 126 Rafale jets.
