CHENNAI: An FIR was filed on Sunday against Leader of Opposition MK Stalin and other DMK MLAs who had protested inside the Tamil Nadu Secretariat and outside the Assembly premise.
A case had been filed in Fort Police station as DMK MLAs gathered inside the premises without permission.
DMK MLAs had protested inside the secretariat on 18th and 19th of this month to allow them inside the assembly premise to go Stalin' office.
The case was filed against 40 MLAs on 18th and 60 MLAs on 19th.
On 17th August, the Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker expelled DMK MLAs for a week from entering the assembly for continuous disruption of proceedings.
Leader of the House and state's Finance Minister O. Paneerselvam moved a resolution seeking suspension of all DMK MLAs present in the House for a week, which was adopted by the House.
The disruption triggered after one of the AIADMK MLAs Gunasekaran passed a remark on Stalin's Nammaku Naame (We, Ourselves) roadshow.
Marshals physically carried Stalin out of the assembly building where an army of reporters surrounded the entrance to question the opposition leader.
"Today's action by the speaker and the ruling party members is yet another example of the attitude the AIADMK (towards opposition)," Stalin told the media.
