Amit Shah defended the Delhi police actions and even raised questions on the opposition's reaction regarding the same. Amit Shah said that he won't speak on the merits of this case as the Delhi Police and the IAS officers are handling the case pretty well. He said that police is handling the case very professionally and a person's age or profession can't be the basis to defend anybody's crime.

Amit Shah said that the nature of the criminal case should not be judged on extraneous factors and the investigation by the Delhi Police is being handled 'meticulously'. Amit Shah said, " “Kya gender, age, profession pooch kar gunah tay hoga? (Will a crime or culpability be decided on the basis of gender, age or profession?) If someone commits a crime, should we go and ask why have you done it you are a professor or politician, or farmer. What is this new fashion."

HM Shah said, "There is a little scope of error in Delhi Police's assessment but if you feel the FIR has been wrongly filed there is a justice system in the country, go and seek remedy."
Amit Shah further said, " There are so many 21-yr-old youngsters in our country, why was that one person arrested. Delhi Police must be having some evidence for taking such action. They have been given free hand to handle the case. There is no political pressure."

Slamming the opposition, Amit Shah said, " What is this new trend of associating age, gender or profession with criminal cases. Delhi Police is acting by the law and has already given details of the IPC sections charged on the accused."
