As this is a developing story more information is awaited.

On Wednesday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti was released from her 14-month detention at her residence. She was arrested along with Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah on August 5, 2019, when the Constitution's Articles 370 and 35A were abrogated and the state bifurcated and downgraded into two Union Territories. Initially, she was taken into preventive custody. Later on February 5 this year, she was slapped with the PSA.

After her release, Mufti said in a 1 minute and 23-second audio message posted on her Twitter, that the action taken by "Delhi Durbar" was "unconstitutional, undemocratic and unlawful" and "whatever was illegally snatched away from us in the Delhi Durbar on August 5, will have to be taken back.

"I have been released after more than a year. During this time the black decision of August 5, 2019, black day, would always pain my heart and soul. None of us can ever forget the insult of that day," said Mufti.
