Both the accused, including the juvenile brother, were held yesterday in connection with the incident that took place at Pamgarh town of the district, based on a complaint lodged by 'Mahila Evam Bal Kalyan Samiti' of Bilaspur, Station House Officer Pamgarh Police Station K L Yadav said.
The incident came to light when the girl, fed up with the continuous exploitation, fled from her house and was found at Bilaspur railway station by Government Railway Police (GRP).
The GRP then handed over the girl to the Samiti before which the girl narrated her ordeal, the SHO said.
Subsequently, the Samiti chairperson Mamta Tiwari lodged the complaint with Sarkanda police in Bilaspur who then transferred it to the Pamgarh police station concerned.
As per the complaint, a resident of main road area of the town, the victim was staying with her 17-year-old brother after their mother passed away few years back.
From the past few months, her brother had been allegedly outraging her modesty while recently he forced her to establish physical relationship with their 59-year-old neighbour identified as Genduram, he said.
Frustrated with the sexual exploitation by the duo, she escaped from home on May 27, the SHO said.
A case has been registered under IPC section 376 (2)(g) (gang-rape) and provisions of POSCO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offence) Act, the SHO said adding further probe was on.
