Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday slammed the opposition parties and said that they only think about defeating Prime Minister Narendra Modi but "sheep and goats" cannot put up a fight against a lion in a jungle. "I was with the opposition, they only thought about how to defeat PM Modi. All the animals of the forest, like sheep and goats, cannot come together and fight a lion, and a lion is a lion, in the forest only the lion rules," Shinde said.
"Everyone gathered in front of PM Modi earlier in 2014, everyone knows what happened at that time. In 2019, everyone came together to defeat PM Modi and the public defeated them in such a way that the opposition was reduced from 400 to 40," he added.
Shinde attacked Congress and said that the party, which once secured 400 seats, has come down to 40. The Congress, which once used to secure 400 seats, has come down to 40 seats. The public is with PM Modi because he is taking India towards superpower status.
The One Who Has Not Done Anything Has Nothing To Fear: Shinde On ED Raids
On being questioned about the raids on opposition parties by the Enforcement Directorate, Shinde said that the ED will raid those who have committed corruption. So the one who has not done anything has nothing to fear. "See, what ED does is that it raids those who do corruption, and then ED will raid those who have done corruption. So the one who has not done anything has nothing to fear. ED will not raid anyone like this deliberately. If the BJP had committed corruption, all the evidence would have come to light. So if nothing has been done, then why are you afraid?", Shinde said.
Commenting on the status of the National Democratic Alliance in Maharashtra, Shinde said, "There is no danger. Now we had a double-engine government, there was a government of the Shiv Sena and the BJP, so Ajit Pawar also joined us today, and we have the support of more than 215 MLAs. And the work has been done in the last year, the government has taken decisions for everyone, be it farmers, mothers, sisters, students, or youth. Before our government came to power, there were people full of arrogance; they used to put up roadblocks, and the work was halted. All the projects were closed, and we started them, so people are watching, and they will vote for the one who will do the work. Or will we vote for the one sitting in the house."
Only PM Modi Has Strength To Root Out Terrorism, Says Shinde
Eknath Shinde hailed PM Modi and said that only he has the power to root out terrorism in Kashmir. On being questioned about POK being part of India, Shinde said that it is a dream of PM Modi, and he wants to unite India. On the scrapping of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, Shinde said that after 370 was scrapped, schools started and life for people became easier in Kashmir.
"Of course, even PM Modi has the dream of uniting India, which is why last time there was a surgical strike and even today terrorism is prevailing there. Only PM Modi has the strength to root out terrorism. Today we see that after the scrapping of Article 370, schools have started in Kashmir and people's lives have become easier. Whatever people have received, they are saying that it has been good. People are coming from outside and starting their businesses here. Developments are underway, railway work will start next year. This is heaven, there is cultivation of apples, walnuts, and almonds, so if there is connectivity, there will be development, and people will benefit," Shinde said.
