New Delhi: Today is the second and the last day of BRICS Summit in Goa and Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Eco Co-o (BIMSTEC) meet will take place.
On the first day (on Saturday), India and Russia have already stressed common stand on terrorism. The PM Modi not only announced a slew of high-value defence deals with Russia, but he also appreciated Russia’s understanding and support for India’s actions with Modi saying "An old friend is better than two new ones."
Meanwhile, when India and China, on Saturday, held talks regarding how to tackle the mess of terrorism, a China-Pak Friendship Car Rally was welcomed in different areas of Pakistan. The rally initiated from Xinjiang in China and was on its way to Rawalpindi, officials said.
As per reports, via Khunjrab Pass, the rally that entered Pakistan on Friday and was warmly welcomed by military personnel, Xinhua news agency reported.
Comprising 20 cars, the rally is being held to highlight the importance of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Silk Road. 52 people were on board.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, the participants attended a flag hoisting ceremony .
The car rally will pass through major cities of Pakistan and will finally stop in the port city of Gwadar. It will also pass through Iran and will be finally concluded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
"The China-Pak Friendship Car Rally will not only highlight the international significance of the CPEC but will also further strengthen existing Sino-Pak relations," an official said, reported IANS.
