New Delhi: Rain lashed several parts of Delhi and the national capital region like Noida on Friday morning. The strong bout of shower pulled down the day temperature in the region by a few notches. Earlier today, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted light to moderate intensity intermittent rain in Delhi and its adjoining areas of Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad.
"Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity intermittent rain would occur over and adjoining areas of many places of Delhi, NCR ( Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar,... during next 2 hours," IMD's Regional Weather Forecasting Centre (RWFC) tweeted around 9 am.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius in the capital today. The relative humidity at 8.30 am was 92 percent, the weather office said.
The MeT office has predicted more rains in Delhi-NCR for the next three days.
On Thursday too, several parts of the national capital witnessed light intensity rain that brought a slight respite from the humid weather conditions.
Areas that witnessed showers, include Lutyens Delhi near India Gate, Sansad Marg, ITO, Palam, Shahdara, Dilshad Garden, Ayanagar, Deramandi, Pitampura and Najafgarh.
The weather office said the city received 0.8 mm rainfall in the 24 hours ending 8.30 am on Friday.
