New Delhi: The Delhi Chief Minister addressed a press conference on Tuesday to inform the people of the national capital about the AAP government's 'Delhi Ki Yogshala' initiative for Covid positive patients who are in home isolation.
Kejriwal said that special Yoga/pranayam classes will be brought in by the Delhi govt for COVID-positive patients in home isolation as Yoga boosts immunity and will help them in quick recovery.
Mentioning the details of the programme, the Delhi CM the classes will be available from 6 am to 11 am and patients can register at any time. However, not more than 15 patients are allowed in one batch so the Yoga instructor could focus on each patient.
He said, "We will send them a link today and classes to begin from tomorrow in different batches."
In view of the Covid surge the Delhi government on Tuesday directed closure of all private offices, except those in exempted categories, amid rising number of COVID-19 cases.
The private offices, which were till now operating with 50 per cent work force, have been asked to follow the practice of work from home.
An order issued by Delhi Disaster Management Authority also directed for closing of restaurants and bars in the city. However, restaurants have been allowed home delivery and take away food items.
Government offices in the city are also currently working with 50 percent attendance.
Delhi logged 17 more deaths due to COVID-19 and 19,166 infections in a day as the positivity rate rose to 25 per cent, the highest since May 4 last year, according to the city health department's data on Monday.
The city had reported the same number of Covid deaths on Sunday too. In just 10 days, Delhi has recorded 70 Covid deaths.
The 22,752 new cases reported on Sunday was the highest since May 1 last year when the city saw 25,219 infections with a positivity rate of 31.61 per cent.
