Delhi's Rouse Avenue court on Wednesday extended the judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Enforcement Directorate (ED) case in connection with the alleged Delhi Liquor Policy scam till July 12.
The court however reserved its order on Kejriwal's plea seeking his wife's presence through video conferencing during the consultation by the medical board. The court is likely to pronounce the order on July 6.
On Wednesday, the AAP chief was produced through video conferencing and addressed the court. It may be recalled, that the trial court had earlier granted bail to Arvind Kejriwal in the ED case. But, the Delhi High Court stayed the trial court order and ordered re-hearing of the case by another bench.
Today, the trial court extended his judicial custody in the money laundering case.
In another development, jailed Delhi Chief Minister has now filed a fresh bail petition in the Delhi High Court in case filed by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with alleged Delhi Liquor Policy scam.
The CBI arrested AAP supremo in a corruption case on June 26, while he was in judicial custody in connection with a money laundering case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The high court is likely to hear the bail plea on Friday.
A petition challenging the arrest and remand by CBI is still pending in the high court.
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday issued notice to CBI over arrest and subsequent remand of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection to the Delhi Liquor Policy case. The court has granted seven days to CBI to file reply. Next date of hearing is July 17.
