What Causes Litigation Fatigue? Data Shows 1 Out Of 3 Cases Pending Due To Unavailability Of Lawyers

The Delhi HC, recently while allowing a woman to withdraw her case on account of delay said that "litigation fatigue" is the real reason behind the withdrawal of 7 out of 10 cases. But, what's causing the delay? Here's what data on National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG) shows:

Recently, the news report about a woman withdrawing a case due to "litigation fatigue," went viral. "Court nahi aa sakte baar baar Kaam Chor ke," (Cannot visit the court again and again) were her words to the judge while requesting for a withdrawal. The woman was fighting a criminal case against another and proceedings were ongoing at the trial court on the matter.
